Description
Traditional Village of Myriokefala – Ancient Lappa – Argiroupoli Springs – Picnic Lunch – Kournas Lake – Georgioupolis Fishing Village – Swimming and Snorkeling
This is our most popular cycling tour! In the morning we pick you up by bus from your hotel. The day starts at the village of Myriokefala at the northern slopes of the White Mountains, where we can also visit the famous church of the Panajia with its ancient wall paintings. Then we start cycling down to the settlement of Lappa to visit Roman and Byzantine ruins. In Lappa we can also visit an avocado products shop. Our next stop will be at the amazing springs and tiny waterfalls of Argiroupolis. Back on the bikes we head down to the only fresh water lake on Crete, Lake Kournas. On the way, we’ll have a picnic lunch in the beautiful countryside. At Lake Kournas there will be time enough to go swimming, take a pedalo ride on the lake, or if you wish just relax and enjoy breathtaking views. Finally we cycle down to the fishing village of Georgioupolis for swimming and snorkeling, before being taken back to your hotel. This is a great way to see and enjoy Crete in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
If at any stage of the day you wish to hop onto the bus for a rest, no problem. We just put the bikes on the trailer and continue.
We recommend you bring swimming costumes, money (not credit cards) for coffee breaks and wear comfortable shoes and clothing.
